WEGO Health Activist Twitter Chat on Migraine A Great Success!

Tuesday was my first time ever hosting an online chat and from the responses I got it went pretty well though we had such good conversation I was asked to stay an extra 15 minutes to keep the chat going. As I expected Migraine and Cluster Headache are popular topics and ones that need more attention from the NIH and for neurological stigma to disappear. Medical students especially neurologists clearly need to spend more time on this serious topic in medical school which is obviously failing to do its job from the neurological stigma I often experience from younger doctors doing their residency, The fact of the matter is I’m far more educated on the brain in terms of migraine than them as well as being more educated about my vasculitis. Most rheumatologists use Wikipedia and that’s all they know about it….don;t these morons know ANYONE can edit that information and it’s not a reliable medical resource. A doctor should never be getting his medical information from Wikipedia!
Anyways I hope my chat helped to raise awareness and do some good for the cause. I always push people to do their own advocacy and join me in educating others. Sadly most don’t have the time, the skills, the ability to fight the pain, or are just plain ol’ busy. Check out the transcript of our chat here I hosted it with a migraine oddly enough:
